what is gondola?
Gondola first appeared on Ylilauta /int/ in 2015, created by an Italian poster known as Scary Pizza. It was meant to be a new, less aggressive version of Spurdo Spärde — a creature that doesn't speak Spurdish, or speak at all. Just a melancholic being that doesn't talk, but only observes the world.
From Ylilauta, Gondola spread to Krautchan /int/ where it was immediately welcomed, then across 4chan, VK, and Facebook. Unlike Pepe or Wojak, Gondola never speaks, never reacts — he is the purest expression of simply existing.
Different from Spurdo, Pepe, Wojak, and Yoba — Gondola doesn't rage, doesn't cry, doesn't scheme. He walks. He observes. He smiles. That's it.
